first going for a hike along the Jackson Trail. Good hiking is available along the Oliver Mountain Trail, and hey, Dry Run is a great local stream. There's a forest here at Westvaco Number Two Flyash Lagoon called James River Ranger District, and the summit of Lukes Mountain can be made out from Westvaco Number Two Flyash Lagoon.
