This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Valley Lake without first going for a hike along the Pine Mountain Trail; as expected Benges Branch flows through this vicinity. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. If you came to camp Jessie Lea Recreational Vehicle Park-Campground is a nice spot to do that, and a great close by hotel is Holiday Inn NORTON.       The yearly rainfall here at Valley Lake is about average; March is when you get the most rain here while October is mostly the driest month. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Valley Lake while night lows are mostly in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Valley Lake are in the 20's. That right there is heaps of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has it                  all. Inn at Norton is a fine place to get some rest, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Powell River. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun stuff just keep reading. There's some exciting stuff to see at Rimrock Lake Dam in the vicinity of Valley Lake; Powell River - South Fork is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are nice; Upper Norton Reservoir is a lake that's close to Valley Lake; while you're here why not take a look at Beaverdam Gap.
