One       of the best things about Travis Pond is its proximity to The Sands; there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Turkey Neck Trail. After a long day outdoors Best Western Warsaw is a good place to spend a night or two, and going for a hike on the Big Meadow Trail is always a fine adventure. The top of Stony Hill is easily seen from Travis Pond; dry warm beds await you at Tappahannock-Days Inn Downtown. So many entertaining things to do at Travis Pond,                  so little time. A good site to camp here at Travis Pond is Heritage Park Resort, and the smiling folks of Lexington Park like to hang out nearby. You don’t have to go far from Travis Pond to make out the water at Travis Dam, and of course Bailey Swamp is a delightful stream that is worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful.
