The beauty of Travis Lake is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Fish Hook Lake, and Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Fredericksburg South, VA is a nice site to get some rest. An average amount of precipitation falls at Travis Lake; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month. There's glorious hiking along the

| | Coon Trail; get dripping wet paddling on Aquia Creek. That right there is a heap already, but it goes on; Travis Lake has it all. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Travis Lake; Gracik Trail is a wonderful local trail, and dry warm beds await you at SUPER 8 MOTEL - FREDERICKSBURG. There's so much to do here at Travis Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hidden Acres Family Campground is a great location for that, and whitewater paddling is fine | |

Travis Lower Dam is a beautiful location, unquestionably worth a visit. Lots of people from Richmond come to Travis Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Travis Lake has to offer, you can camp at Campground 721.
At Travis Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are regularly in the 40's; overnight lows at Travis Lake throughout the winter generally descend into the 20's.
