You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the area near Townes Reservoir has to offer. You're sure to encounter some wonderful people from Mount Airy here; nearby you locate the Run Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. Townes Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Throughout the summer highs here at Townes Reservoir get into the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are       in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Townes Reservoir. Townes Reservoir gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Meadows Of Dan Campground; if you've had enough of Townes Reservoir, Squall Creek                  Pond is nearby. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Microtel Suites Mt. Airy is a nice place to get some rest, and don't forget to take a wonderful little tour to Barnard Creek. After a long day outdoors Mt. Airy Knights Inn is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and a fine site for whitewater paddling is Dan River. This lake is so wonderful. Townes Dam is a delightful place next to Townes Reservoir, unsurprisingly you could also have a look at Talbott Reservoir while you're here; it's not far at all. The vista of Cedar Bluff from Townes Reservoir is gorgeous. If you came for an overnight stay Willville Bike Camp is a great place to camp, and going for a hike on the Fire Trail is always a delightful adventure. Having a fine time in the Blue Ridge Mountains is painless. There are great spots to look at along the Moores Knob Trail It's always glorious to visit Great Falls of Dan.   Microtel Suites Mt.
