This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail near Timber Lake called the Meadow Trail; if you're a golfer then a nice close by course is Penderbrook Golf Club. The warmest time of the year at Timber Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's.       For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Timber Lake temperatures descend to the 20's. Timber Lake generally gets a large amount of rainfall; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Timber Lake. Stay the night at Hillwood Camping Park; a brilliant nearby hotel is Candlewood Suites                  Washington-Fairfax. The Gold Mine Trail is a delightful hiking trail in the vicinity of Timber Lake; why not visit Timberlake Dam since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks is a splendid choice, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Potomac River. Difficult Run is a magnificent whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Timber Lake. Clay Cafe Studios is a magnificent campground nearby, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Potomac Heritage Trail.
