For the duration of the summer months at Timber Lake highs are commonly in the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 60's. Timber Lake is a site with many visitors from Lynchburg; not far from Timber Lake you'll
find Poplar Forest Lake which is a charming lake. Timber Lake ordinarily gets much rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Hiking along the Terrapin Mountain Trail is delightful fun, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Harris Creek.
