In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rappahannock River. All through the long summer days at Thorn Pond highs are usually in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows during the winter for Thorn Pond tend to be in the 20's. There is a great hiking trail right       next door to Thorn Pond called the Jackson Trail, and if you're here you can play some golf at South Wales Golf Course. You don’t have to go far from Thorn Pond to see the water at Thorn Dam. Lakes are great; Hawkins Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Thorn Pond. This lake is so wonderful. This is a glorious vicinity for folks who like lakes.
