Beautiful Thompson Lake has much to offer visitors. Lake of the Clouds is a good lake close to Thompson Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Rattlesnake Trail. That right there is loads of amusing things already but it goes on, the Blue Ridge Mountains has it all. Rappahannock River is a splendid whitewater spot close to Thompson Lake; don't leave Thompson Lake without first going for a hike along the Dickey Hill Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you

Going for a hike on the Belle Meade Linden Trail is always a glorious adventure; Thompson Lake is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Sky Meadows State Park is a nice location to camp nearby. Thompson Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do in close proximity to Thompson Lake. | |

Thompson Dam is a pretty site right next door to Thompson Lake, and Brushy Mountain can be made out from Thompson Lake.
The yearly rainfall here at Thompson Lake is about average; throughout the month of July you get the most
rain around here, and January is the month with the least moisture. Be careful coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. Rock Spring is a perfect local attraction, and you can stay the night at Shenandoah
River State Park.
This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Shenandoah River right next door to Thompson Lake; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites FRONT ROYAL BLUE RIDGE SHADOWS. Summertime highs at
Thompson Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Thompson Lake are in the 10's.
