Thompson Lake is one of the lakes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A lake nearby is Mathews Pond, and hiking along the Belle Meade Linden Trail is tremendous fun. All through the warmest time of the year here at Thompson Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. Through the winter highs are commonly in the 30's with temperatures       at Thompson Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. This place is so good, just explore all the entertaining things to do in the neighborhood of Thompson Lake. Get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Shenandoah River, and a trip to Rock Spring will fill your soul with great feelings. This lake is so wonderful. SUPER 8 MOTEL - FRONT ROYAL is a good place to get some rest, and going for a hike along the Rattlesnake Trail will                  let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Brushy Mountain is a peak you can distinguish from Thompson Lake; a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Rappahannock River. This lake is so wonderful. You could also have a look at Spring Lake while you're here at Thompson Lake; it's close by; Sky Meadows State Park is a good campground nearby. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the Blue Ridge Mountains has to offer.
