Unimin Tailings Dam is wonderful and it's close to Tailings Pond, and splendid hiking is available along the Little Passage Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Yellow Spring Hollow is a great location to pop by near Tailings Pond, and you can go for a hike on the Old Romney Grade. What a site this is for outdoors people. Lakes? Sure, Beaver Lake is in close proximity; do put some time aside to spend at Mine       Spring while you're here at Tailings Pond. Dry Run flows through this area, and camping is available at Cove Campgrounds. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Back Creek - Potomac Tributary in the neighborhood of Tailings Pond; there are plenty of folks from Winchester here. Dry warm beds await you at Courtyard by Marriott Winchester, and don't leave Tailings Pond without first going for a hike along the Signal Knob Trail.
