Near Sweetbriar Lake you find a golf course called Shadow Ridge Golf Course; if you're here you can take a hike along the Tolley Gap Trail. Any time is a great time at Sweetbriar Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. Get dripping wet paddling on Buffalo River, and after a long day outdoors Madison Heights Knights Inn is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two. There's just       no way somebody can get bored here at Sweetbriar Lake. The high level of rain makes Sweetbriar Lake a rather wet spot; most of the rain falls through October while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Sweetbriar Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and the overnight is rather colder of course, typically in the 60's. Highs all through the winter are mostly in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's                  to Sweetbriar Lake. There is a great hiking trail next to Sweetbriar Lake called the Cashaw Creek Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Select Lynchburg, Va. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Sweetbriar Lake, you could also go to nearby Early Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Sweetbriar Lake has to offer, you can camp at Piney River Campground. On a magnificent day at Sweetbriar Lake you can take a hike along the White Rock Gap Trail, and there's some interesting stuff to catch a sight of at Sweetbriar College Lower Dam in the vicinity of Sweetbriar Lake. Glide down the rapids of Harris Creek in a kayak, and Izaak Walton Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. Some nearby water includes Higginbotham Creek, and the vista of scenic Paul Mountain is wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to come across some good people from Lynchburg here.
