But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Swan Lake. Nearby Clowser Gap is a brilliant place to go if you're at Swan Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Emerald Lake. After a long day outdoors Courtyard by Marriott Winchester is a tremendous place to spend a night or two, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Signal       Knob Trail. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Swan Lake. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Swan Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from Winchester here; obviously Keckley Run flows through this area. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Winchester, and Swan Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Cove                  Campgrounds is a good local campground. The Old Romney Grade offers hiking at its best, and camping at Candy Hill Campground is always a perfect experience. You can run the rapids of Back Creek - Potomac Tributary close to Swan Lake, and Swan Lake is right by the Little Passage Trail. Swan Lake is a good site of normal rainfall; during July this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. This is a great vicinity for people who like lakes.
