There's delightful hiking along the Signal Knob Trail. At Swan Lake through the summertime highs are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Swan Lake. The amount of rain that falls at Swan Lake is close to the national       average; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. The Little Passage Trail offers hiking at its best; you could always look at Clowser Gap. Crystal Dam is not far at all from Swan Lake, and if you came to camp Candy Hill Campground is a magnificent site to do that. Good hiking is available along the Old Romney Grade, and paddling on Back Creek - Potomac Tributary is so much fun. A pretty lake                  like Beaver Lake in close proximity to Swan Lake is a magnificent place to explore; Keckley Run is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Days Inn Winchester is a good place to get some rest, and Swan Lake is not far at all from Winchester. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Courtyard by Marriott Winchester is a fine choice.
