Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not check out Nelson Lake close to Stevens Lake, and there's wonderful hiking along the Turkey Pen Ridge Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Rucker Run, and at Stevens Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Stevens Lake there are some exciting things to see. Stevens Lake is in close proximity to Freshwater Cove which is unquestionably worth visiting, and Stevens Lake is a good

You'll need more than a day to look at everything Stevens Lake has to offer, you can camp at Piney River Campground, and if you need a place to stay Knights Inn Madison Heights Lynchburg is a delightful choice. without some skiing at Wintergreen. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Mills Creek Trail, and you'll come across a beautiful lake called Nelson Lake. Be careful coming to Stevens Lake, you might not
ever wanna return back home again. There are some good whitewater spots on Tye River, and dry warm beds await you at Wintergreen Resort. Much rainfall falls at Stevens Lake; the month with most of the rain is October, and the driest
month of the year is January. At Stevens Lake during the warm months highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Stevens Lake during the winter mostly drop into the 10's.

 | 13 miles away Well me and my family have been going to Sharando Lake ever since I was born and we havn't gone anywhere else I love sherando and I can't wait to go back for another memorable camping weekend!...As close to perfect a camping experience as you can get: 1) Private, secluded, spacious campsites 2)access to flush toilets and showers, 3) a breathtakingly beautiful lake/swim area 4)hiking trails. WORD OF CAUTION: in-season, all sites are snapped up by Thurday noon for the weekend. Come on Sunday for best selection or before Thursday if you want a shot at a campsite. They don't take reservations (as of 8/2006) Wish they would so everyone could have a shot at a weekend camping trip there, not just the locals who can zip in and set a few camping chairs on the sites on Thursday to claim it for the weekend. ... |
