There's tremendous hiking along the Dividing Ridge Trail; Big Bald Knob can be observed from Stark Pond. A brilliant place next to Stark Pond is Horse Trough Hollow, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Calfpasture River. An average amount of precipitation falls at Stark Pond; most of the rain falls during July,       and February is the month with the least moisture. Stay the night at Stokesville Park Recreational, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Staunton-Golf & Conf Ctr, Va is a nice choice. During the warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Stark Pond, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Stark Pond. You're probably hooked on lakes, Barger Pond is one of                  those close by. This lake is so wonderful. Stark Pond is a good location to visit for more than one day, North River Campground is a good location to camp nearby, and why not a little side spree to Mitchell Branch. Here at Stark Pond you'll probably meet some folks from Staunton-Waynesboro; Little River - North R. Tributary is a glorious whitewater spot close by. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Ramseys Draft Trail, and unsurprisingly, this is a wonderful region for folks who like lakes, Elkhorn Lake is a lake close by.
