Dry warm beds await you at Wingate by Wyndham Lexington; you'll discover a scenic lake called Sheppe Pond. Lakes are such calm places, why not visit Lynchburg Reservoir near Spring Lake, and close by you stumble on the Cashaw Creek Trail which is a good hiking trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things close to Spring Lake. Reservoir Hollow is near Spring Lake and is a brilliant location, and going for a hike on the       Piney Ridge Trail is always a good adventure. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Shady Mountain Campground is a tremendous local campground, and some of the water nearby flows, like Chalk Mine Run. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Marl Creek; the Rocky Row Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. Summer at Spring Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it                  descends down to the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Spring Lake dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. The amount of rain that falls at Spring Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls all through May, and January is when it's the driest. Spring Lake is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, Oronoco Campground is a pleasant location to camp nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Hay's Creek offers some great whitewater. So much exciting stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just amazing. You must absolutely explore Little Pinnacle since you're here at Spring Lake, and brilliant water scenery is available at Keys Mill Dam right next door to Spring Lake. The peak of Elephant Mountain can be observed from Spring Lake; Super 8 Lexington VA is a glorious location to get some rest.
