If you are in Stafford county it's always a good idea to stop by Smith Lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Smith Lake a wet location; most of the rain falls through August, and January on the other hand is the driest. Why not camp at Turkey Run Ridge Campground while you're here at Smith Lake, and a quick journey to Beaverdam Run is undeniably a fine idea. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Turkey Run Ridge Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and Aquia Creek Dam has splendid water scenery. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the South Valley Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Aquia Creek.

here at Smith Lake is Aquia Pines Campground, naturally you could also stop by Camp Three Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Country Inn By Carlson Stafford is a great
choice, and Smith Lake is not the only place nearby, Breckinridge Reservoir is a nearby lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area right next door to Smith Lake has to offer. Hiking along the
Chopawamsic Trail is glorious fun, and get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Quantico Creek - South Branch.
For the period of the summertime, highs mostly are in the 80's at Smith Lake, and during summer nights
temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's with temperatures at Smith Lake dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights.
