Smith Lake is a lake worth visiting. Don't leave Smith Lake without first going for a hike along the Turkey Run Ridge Trail, and if you've had enough of Smith Lake, Breckinridge Reservoir is close by. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous place for whitewater paddling right next door to Smith Lake is Aquia Creek; there's some flowing water nearby, Beaverdam Run is a stream you can stop by while you're here. Quantico Creek - South Branch is a wonderful whitewater spot near Smith Lake, and there are magnificent sites to look at along the Chopawamsic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. are in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Smith Lake. You just ought to go for Smith Lake. Turkey Run Ridge Campground is a pleasant local campground, and Country Inn By Carlson Stafford is a good location to get some rest.
