Old Still Hollow is a pleasant place to pop by in the vicinity of Slemp Pond; get wet paddling on Stock Creek. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of High Butte can be seen from Slemp Pond, and whitewater paddling is good on Powell River. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Turkey is a splendid site; as       expected Buck Creek is a stunning stream that is worth going to. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things near Slemp Pond. Cave Springs Campground is a brilliant local campground, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Big Stone Gap is a great spot to spend a night or two. Slemp Pond gets much water; the month with most of the rain is May, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime highs at Slemp Pond mostly tend to be in the 80's while                  night lows are generally in the 60's.
