All through the summertime months at Slemp Pond highs are usually in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Slemp Pond temperatures dip to the 20's. Slemp Pond is a great site to visit for more than one day, Cave Springs Campground is a great site to camp nearby; Turkey is a perfect place here at Slemp       Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Slemp Pond is right by the Daniel Boone Trail, and High Butte is trouble-free to spot from Slemp Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Big Stone Gap is a wonderful place to get some rest, and a quick tour to Buck Creek is certainly a great idea. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Slemp Pond is peerless! But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn NORTON; there are other locations here than Slemp Pond, for example Keokee Lake. Nearby Old Still Hollow is a brilliant site to go if you're at Slemp Pond, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Stock Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Slemp Pond a wet spot; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most; October is the month with the least moisture. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
