away. Don't leave Sleeter Lake without first going for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; the scenery at Sleeter Lake Dam is beautiful. Go for a hike on the Loudoun Heights Trail, and after a long day outdoors Goodstone Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two.

When this gem is low it is full of club boaters huddled in eddies playing follow the leader through shallow rocky class IIish ledges. bull falls, being the biggest hit of the day is simple and easy to recover gear if you take a tumble. At high water, (note: this writer considers 10ft @ millville to be moderately high) This babe changes to huge fast waves and raft flipping holes. Go with someone who knows what is up if you are going out when the doah is actually got some water in it. Big water means that bull falls is washed out with easy sneak lines but third hole in the main chute only gets bigger as the water goes up. The staircase really starts rockin with some of the best play in the area. With good levels the potomac will back the doah up and you have about 200 yards of flat water til the confluence. Then when the doah meets the mac the big water is really there. river right has shit that will kill your ass and river left is big big big play waves with a couple of holes to miss. if you didn;t get your fill, climb out on the canal and hike back up to ru... |

 | 61 miles away Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
