Pierce Creek is a nice site to have a look at. For the period of the warm days of summer at Slade Pond temperatures are commonly in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Slade Pond. People from Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News love to come to Slade Pond, and on a splendid       day you can take a hike along the James River Trail. While you're here at Slade Pond you can take a hike along the Lower Chippokes Creek Trail, and not far from Slade Pond you get some good water scenery at Gail Dam. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Slade Pond. There is a great hiking trail near Slade Pond called the Forestry Trail; Wrenns Millpond is a magnificent lake close by. Swamps like Pettit Pocosin in close proximity to                  Slade Pond make for great places to have a look at; if you came to camp American Sportsman Campground is a perfect place to do that. Slade Pond is a wet spot that gets a large amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls during July while April is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Kingsmill Resort, and lakes are such serene locations, why not pop by Smithfield Lake.
