Going for a hike along the Old Romney Grade will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Silver Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Log Cabin Campground is a delightful local campground, and there are plenty of folks from Winchester here at Silver Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Cattail Run is a tremendous       local stream. Lakes? Sure, Lake Saint Clair is close at hand. At Silver Lake Dam in close proximity to Silver Lake there are some interesting things to see; why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Rock Harbor Golf Course. Throughout the summer months highs here at Silver Lake reach the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's while Silver Lake                  night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Silver Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Candy Hill Campground is a nice location for that, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Signal Knob Trail. You get a tremendous view of Babbs Mountain from Silver Lake; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Lake Saint Clair. If you adore the outdoors, you'll love Silver Lake. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Winchester is a tremendous location to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is nice on Back Creek - Potomac Tributary.
