Getting to North Fork Back Creek from Sherando Lake is easy. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Sherando Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sherando Lake Campground. During the months of summer at Sherando Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's,       and night lows in the 10's for Sherando Lake. If you get bored of Sherando Lake, you could also stop by nearby Upper Sherando Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Wintergreen is quite near. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Waynesboro Inn & Suites Conf Ctr is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and you can go for a hike on the Turkey Pen Ridge Trail. Now, you may believe that's a heap but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at                  Sherando Lake. Rockfish River - South Fork has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by. There's so much to do here at Sherando Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kennedy Fields Campgrounds is a tremendous place for that. Sherando Lake is a good place of common rain; August is when you get the most rain here while February is mostly the driest month. If you're here, you might as well pop by Reids Gap, and not far from Sherando Lake you obtain some magnificent water scenery at Sherando Dam. This lake is so wonderful. At Sherando Lake you always meet someone from Staunton-Waynesboro, and don't leave Sherando Lake without first going for a hike along the White Rock Gap Trail. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. If the weather is delightful, you get a splendid sight of Kelley Mountain from Sherando Lake, and a glorious close by hotel is Wintergreen Resort.
