Go to Sheppe Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains rocks! On a pretty day you acquire a view of Big Rocky Row from Sheppe Pond; there's fine hiking along the Piney Ridge Trail. What a site this is for outdoors people. | | get some rest; whitewater paddling is splendid on Hay's Creek. Sheppe Pond is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Rocky Row Trail, and James River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby. If you need a place to stay Red Carpet Inn Lexington is a brilliant choice, and if you came to camp Wildwood Campground is a magnificent site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Pond is Cedar Bridge Hollow, and at Cushaw Dam next to Sheppe Pond there are some exciting things to see. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Sheppe Pond temperatures are typically in the 80's while night lows are frequently
in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows throughout the winter for Sheppe Pond tend to be in the 20's. Sheppe Pond gets a common amount of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain, and
January is the month with the least moisture. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff close to Sheppe Pond. Go for a hike on the Cashaw Creek Trail, and a lake close by is Cushaw Reservoir. Sheppe Pond is not the only place
close by, Otter Lake is a close by lake, and lots of people from Lynchburg come here. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Sheppe Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Yogi Bear's Jellystone At Natural Bridge is a tremendous location for that, and swing by Cashaw Creek it's a tremendous place to take a look at.
