So much cool stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time. In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hay's Creek, and one of the governing marks of the surroundings of Sheppe Pond is Big Rocky Row. High temperatures at Sheppe Pond during the months of summer are in the       80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. On a fine day at Sheppe Pond you can take a hike along the Cashaw Creek Trail; Cushaw Dam is a delightful spot. Sheppe Pond gets a common amount of annual rain; the month with most of the rain is May while January is typically the driest month. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This spot, the Blue Ridge Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express LEXINGTON is a delightful site to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Sheppe Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Wildwood Campground is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to encounter some fine folks from Lynchburg here; it's a nice idea to stop at Cashaw Creek. You could also explore Otter Lake while you're here at Sheppe Pond; it's nearby, and you can stay the night at Yogi Bear's Jellystone At Natural Bridge.
