Candy Hill Campground is a great local campground; this is a popular spot for folks from Winchester. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at TownePlace Suites Winchester. Sheppard Pond gets a common amount of rain; July is when you get the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The       scenery at Sheppard Dam near Sheppard Pond is lovely, and don't forget to take a brilliant little spree to Abrams Creek. So many entertaining things in close proximity to Sheppard Pond, simply striking. While you're here at Sheppard Pond, you could also stop by wonderful Izaak Walton Pond, and a delightful place for whitewater paddling is Back Creek - Potomac Tributary. Lakeside Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; if you need a spot to stay                  Shoney's Inn Winchester is a wonderful choice. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Shenandoah River, and do take a hike on the Belle Meade Linden Trail. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy a round of golf at Carper's Valley Golf Club not far from Sheppard Pond; you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Rattlesnake Trail. For the duration of the warm days of summer highs here at Sheppard Pond get into the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's; night lows at Sheppard Pond all through the wintertime generally dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
