Shenandoah Dam is scenic and it's close to Shenandoah Lake, and Massanutten is a very popular ski area in close proximity. Paddling on Dry River is so much fun; the Furnace Mountain Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. If you came to camp Harrisonburg- New Market Koa is a brilliant place to do that, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on South River. There is a       perfect hiking trail near Shenandoah Lake called the Lewis Mountain Trail; if you're here and you like golf, you can take a look at Lakeview Golf Course. The amount of rain that falls at Shenandoah Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is January.
