If you are traveling by, why not stop by Shenandoah Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Lewis Peak Trail, and Courtyard By Marriott Harrisonburg is a splendid spot to get some rest. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Massanutten; not far from Shenandoah Lake you obtain some pleasant water scenery at Shenandoah Dam. There's whitewater on South River for all you thrill seekers, and there are plenty of people from Harrisonburg here.

This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Shenandoah Lake is great fun, Harrisonburg- New Market Koa is a great local campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Shenandoah Lake;
Lewis Mountain Trail is a good local trail. During the warm months at Shenandoah Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the
40's; night lows in the 20's for Shenandoah Lake. A nice close by hotel is Jameson Inn Harrisonburg.
The annual precipitation here at Shenandoah Lake is about average; August is the wettest month with most rain while January is generally the driest month.
