Beautiful Salt Pond has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. People from Roanoke love to come to Salt Pond, and Booker T Washington National Monument is a perfect place nearby. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Salt Pond. you're here at Salt Pond. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lakes are brilliant; Rainbow Forest Lake is a lake that's near Salt Pond, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike
along the Spec Mines Trail.
Salt Pond is one of the lakes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. High temperatures at Salt Pond through the warm days of summer are in the 80's while night lows are usually in the 60's. High temperatures
throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's while Salt Pond overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's.
A nice place to camp here at Salt Pond is Camp Virginia Jaycee; if you come at the right time
of year, Catawba Creek offers some great whitewater. On a splendid day at Salt Pond you can take a hike along the Hammond Hollow Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend James River.
