Beautiful Salt Pond has much to offer visitors. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is bountiful here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Go for a hike on the Spec Mines Trail, and get covered with water paddling on James River. Salt Pond is a location with many visitors from Roanoke, and pleasant hiking is available along the Hammond Hollow Trail. The annual rain here at Salt Pond is about average; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month is February.

| | This lake is so wonderful. A splendid close by hotel is Red Roof Inn Roanoke - Troutville, obviously you could also visit Rainbow Forest Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. Curry Gap is a great site to stop by close by, and Salt Pond is a great location to visit for more than one day, Beartree - George Washington National Forest is a great location to camp nearby. nearby, and Holiday Inn Express TROUTVILLE - ROANOKE NORTH is a great spot to get some rest. For the period of the summertime months here at Salt Pond, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops
down to the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Salt Pond are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You get a fine panorama of Flattop from Salt Pond; most likely you're looking
for nearby lakes? Sure, Beaverdam Reservoir is just a very short distance away. A visit to Booker T Washington National Monument is worthwhile. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Whitewater paddling is perfect on Catawba Creek; going for a hike on the Curry Creek Trail is always a splendid adventure. Salt Pond is one of the lakes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
