There are other spots here than Salisbury Lake, for example Blackheath Pond, and you can stay the night at Pocahontas State Park. Salisbury Lake is a rather wet place regularly with a great deal of rain; throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here; April on the other hand is the driest. Amelia Family Campground

Amelia Family Campground is the home of The Central Virginia Family Bluegrass Music Festival which has been held here for 30 years.
