If you like lakes and you're in this part of Virginia you can check out Rimrock Lake. And that's not everything you can do here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Beech Hollow is a pleasant place to explore; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Powell River. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn NORTON is a glorious choice, and on a delightful day you get a brilliant view of Little Stone Mountain from Rimrock Lake.

| | lake is so wonderful. On a magnificent day at Rimrock Lake you can take a hike along the Pine Mountain Trail; camping is available at Bark Campground. So much enjoyable stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, just mind-boggling. A good site to camp here at Rimrock Lake is Cane Patch Campground; great water scenery is available at Rimrock Lake Dam in close proximity to Rimrock Lake. it's regularly in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Rimrock Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
Be careful coming to Rimrock Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Inn at Norton is a wonderful place to get some rest, and there's whitewater on Powell River - South Fork for all you adrenaline people. Lakes? Sure,
Valley Lake is in the vicinity; since you're here, you could check out Bear Branch.
A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Rimrock Lake; March is when you get the most rain here, and October is the month with the least moisture.
