If you are traveling by, why not stop by Rhine River. For the period of the long summer days here at Rhine River, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows at Rhine River through the wintertime commonly sink into the 20's. Rhine River really is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. Camping is available at Newport News Park Campground,

| | and if you need a place to stay Crowne Plaza Hotel WILLIAMSBURG is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a pleasant close by course is Colonial Golf Course & Golf Academy; Rhine River is not far at all from Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News.
Rhine River is a wet spot that gets a good deal of precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is April. There's great hiking along the Lower Chippokes | |

Creek Trail, and Parkside Resort is a delightful location to get some rest. Brewery Road Dam is delightful and it's near Rhine River, and if you've had enough of Rhine River, Brewery Road Lake is nearby.
This lake is so wonderful.
The James River Trail offers hiking at its best. If you came for an overnight stay Anvil Campground is a wonderful place to camp, and don't forget to take a fine little journey to Grices Run. Why not take a refreshing hike along the
College Run Trail, and perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Williamsburg Country Club Lake is just a very short distance away.
