Be careful coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Plunkett Lake has to offer, you can camp at Beartree - George Washington National Forest, and Plunkett Lake is right by the Trout Creek Appalachian Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Plunkett Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Grindstone - George       Washington National Forest is a great location for that; if you need a site to stay La Quinta Inn Roanoke Salem is a magnificent choice. Summer at Plunkett Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Plunkett Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. That right there is loads of entertaining                  stuff already but it goes on, the Blue Ridge Mountains has it all. Lakes are such serene sites, why not go to Loch Haven Lake close to Plunkett Lake, and you'll possibly meet some folks from Roanoke here. If time allows, Booker T Washington National Monument is a national park worth a visit; on a pretty day you get a brilliant view of Catawba Mountain from Plunkett Lake. This lake is so wonderful. It's a magnificent idea to explore Jumping Run Creek, it's next to Plunkett Lake; Lock Haven Lake is a great lake close by. Just can't get enough of Plunkett Lake. The Dragon Tooth Trail offers hiking at its best, and Barbours Creek is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. But wait, there's more to do near Plunkett Lake. There's great hiking along the North Mountain Trail, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Hanging Rock Golf Club. You can run the rapids of Craig Creek near Plunkett Lake, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SALEM is a brilliant place to get some rest. Plunkett Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you're here at Plunkett Lake it's a fine idea to explore Mason Cove; Dark Hollow is also a great place to look at.
