This lake is so wonderful. Placid Lake is a rather wet place typically with much precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Why not camp at Monroe Bay Campground since you're here at Placid Lake, and on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Big Meadow Trail. For the       period of the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 80's at Placid Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Placid Lake during the winter generally sink into the 20's. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Dahlgren, and some nearby water includes Mattox Creek. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in close proximity                  to Placid Lake. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can check out Placid Lake Dam; you're possibly addicted to lakes, Latanes Pond is one of those nearby. Days Inn Colonial Beach is a great location to get some rest, and the Turkey Neck Trail is a delightful hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
