Pitts Pond in fact is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. Dry warm beds await you at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Fredericksburg South, VA; going for a hike on the Cedar Trail is always a great adventure. There is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Pitts Pond called the Wilderness Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Campground 721 is a tremendous location to camp. Jacks Creek is a stunning       stream that is worth stopping at, and a lake nearby is Collins Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on North Anna River. A fine location for whitewater paddling close to Pitts Pond is Little River - North Anna Tributary, and the Broomstraw Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. The high level of rain makes Pitts Pond a relatively wet location; through July this area sees the most                  rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. There's always Lake Holly Dam to pop by right next door to Pitts Pond, and why not camp at R&D Family Campground while you're here at Pitts Pond. During the summer here at Pitts Pond, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are regularly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Pitts Pond are in the 20's.
