Philpott Lake is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. Philpott Lake is not the only location nearby, Hales Ponds is a nearby lake, and camping at Fairy Stone State Park is always a great experience. Get yourself into a kayak and hit North Mayo; if you need a site to stay Quality Inn Dutch Inn is a tremendous choice. At Philpott Lake you always meet someone from Martinsville, and float down the rapids of Smith River in a kayak.

| | so wonderful. You might want to pay a visit to Burch Hollow while you're here at Philpott Lake, and Philpott Dam is a pretty location, positively worth going to. A great location to camp here at Philpott Lake is Indian Heritage RV Park, and do take a hike on the Casters Trail.
