    Beautiful Persimmon Pond has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Marshall Draft Trail, and why not head up to The Homestead and strap some skis to your feet. You just should have a thing about Persimmon Pond. If you fancy a little side tour, try Foxtail Hollow, and there are wonderful sites to look at along the Fort Lewis Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
Throughout the long summer days here at Persimmon
 
   Pond, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Persimmon Pond temperatures sink to the 10's. Persimmon Pond is a wet place that gets lots of rain; July is the wettest month with most rain while December is usually the driest month. A quick journey to Campbell Run next to Persimmon Pond is a perfect idea,  
               and the top of Meadow Knob is easily distinguished from Persimmon Pond.
Virginia Power is a fine local campground, and since you're here, you could also take a look at gorgeous Browns Pond. Don't leave Persimmon Pond without first going for a hike along the Tower Hill Mountain Trail; Cowpasture River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bullpasture River; if you came for an overnight stay Cold Sulphur Camp Ground is a great place to camp.
