Near Pandapas Pond you stumble on the Poverty Creek Horse Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and the peak of Gap Mountain can be made out from Pandapas Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the War Spur Trail is always a splendid adventure, and a golf course close by is Blacksburg Municipal Golf Course. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling       on Roanoke River - North Fork; Pandapas Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, New River Junction Campground is a pleasant local campground. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. A good site close to Pandapas Pond is Wash Hollow, and it's a glorious idea to visit Greenbrier Branch. The amount of rainfall that falls at Pandapas Pond is close to the national average; July is the month that gets the most rain, and January                  on the other hand is the driest. There is a great hiking trail next to Pandapas Pond called the Brush Mountain Horse Trail; a splendid nearby hotel is Hawthorn Blacksburg University. Holiday Inn Blacksburg, Va is a great site to get some rest, and camping at Interstate Overnight Park is always a magnificent experience. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful location for whitewater paddling close to Pandapas Pond is Little Stony Creek; the cheerful folks of Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford like to hang out nearby. At Pandapas Pond all through the summer months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's.
