The beauty of Orchard Lake is reason enough to stop by. And if that's not enough there's heaps more entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. During your visit to Orchard Lake you'll meet some people from Roanoke for sure, and you can hit the slopes at The Homestead around here. Orchard Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Beartree - George Washington National Forest is a wonderful location to camp, and Roanoke-Daystop

| | Troutville is a perfect spot to get some rest.
If you're here at Orchard Lake, you could explore Rulman Branch, and don't leave Orchard Lake without first going for a hike along the Curry Creek Trail. Just can't get enough of Orchard Lake. From a rain point of view Orchard Lake is a relatively typical site; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.

- George Washington National Forest is a nice local campground, and a golf course nearby is Brookside Par 3 Golf Course. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Orchard Lake. Not far from Orchard Lake you acquire some magnificent
water scenery at Orchard Lake Dam; magnificent hiking is available along the North Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Catawba Creek, and visiting
Booker T Washington National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
Whitewater paddling is glorious on Barbours Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Inn Daleville. For the period of the summertime
highs here at Orchard Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Orchard Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
Not far from Orchard Lake, you'll discover Carvins Cove Reservoir which is a wonderful lake; there's good hiking along the Fenwick Nature Trail.
