Get yourself into a kayak and hit Potomac River, and Goodstone Inn is a great place to get some rest. If the weather is splendid here at Oliver Lake, you can go for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Summertime highs at Oliver Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; nighttime lows during the wintertime for Oliver Lake tend to be in the 10's.

There's so much to do here at Oliver Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Greenville Farm Family Campground is a wonderful location for that. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Leesburg is a pleasant location to spend a night or two, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Loudoun Heights | |

Trail. Oliver Lake is not the only place nearby, Kingsley Lake is a nearby lake; Beaverdam Creek is close to Oliver Lake and is always a diversion to stop at. At Oliver Lake you can observe Steptoe Hill, naturally you could also visit
Izaak Walton League Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. A common amount of rain falls here at Oliver Lake; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. Here
at Oliver Lake you'll almost certainly meet some people from Hagerstown-Martinsburg, and if you came to camp Turtle Run Campground is a delightful place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a glorious nearby course is Westpark Golf Club, and an exciting thing to stop by near Oliver Lake is Oliver Dam.

 | 10 miles away Tried to put in at the Fairfax Dam but the City of Fairfax has closed the road and posted no trespassing signs everywhere. Seem to be pretty serious about prosecuting violators and towing cars. The portage around dam is too hard for rafts and steep for others.... |
