Old Elkton Lake is right by the Piney Ridge Trail, and obviously, this is a perfect area for people who like lakes, Poplar Forest Lake is a lake around here. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Old Elkton Lake; Terrapin Mountain Trail is a great local trail, and camping is available at Wildwood Campground. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Cashaw Creek Trail; lots of folks from Lynchburg come here. From       a rainfall point of view Old Elkton Lake is a pretty common spot; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; January is when it's the driest. Be careful coming to Old Elkton Lake, you might not ever want to return back home again. If you came for an overnight stay Yogi Bear's Jellystone At Natural Bridge is a great spot to camp. Lakes are wonderful; Wildwood Lake is a lake that's next to Old Elkton Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on                  Pedlar River is so much fun, and a glorious nearby hotel is SpringHill Suites Lynchburg. For the duration of the summer at Old Elkton Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Old Elkton Lake. An afternoon playing golf at Ivy Hill Golf Club is always a pleasure, and you can take a little tour to Old Elkton Lake Dam while you're here at Old Elkton Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
