This lake is so wonderful. Residence Inn Fair Lakes Fairfax is a splendid location to get some rest, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Farms to Forest Trail. North Twin Lake is a reasonably wet place typically with much rain; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month       with the least amount of precipitation. A golf course near North Twin Lake is General's Ridge Golf Course. If you come at the right time of year, Cub Run offers some great whitewater, and a lake close by is Lake Cotting. At North Twin Lake throughout the warm months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime                  temperatures at North Twin Lake sink into the 20's. Here at North Twin Lake there are plenty of people from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, and going for a hike on the Hickory Ridge Trail is always a great adventure. That right there is heaps already, but it goes on; North Twin Lake has it all. North Twin Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Bull Run Regional Park is a fine local campground, and there are good spots to look at along the Oak Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. North Twin Lake Dam is worth going to if you're here, and a pleasant nearby hotel is Hyatt Fair Lakes.
