If you come at the right time of year, Hardware River offers some splendid whitewater, and swing by Bear Garden Creek it's a nice spot to stop at. Glide down       the rapids of Slate River in a kayak, and camping at Cedar Crest At Twin Lakes State Park is always a great experience. You could also pop by McIver Lake since you're here at New Ash Pond; it's close by, and New Ash Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Bear Creek State Park is a good local campground. All through the summertime months at New Ash Pond temperatures are frequently in the 80's; the nighttime is a little chillier of course, ordinarily                  in the 60's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at New Ash Pond. If only every site had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great world it would be.
