Why not have a look at Nelson Dam if you're here; since you're here you can take a hike along the Mills Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at Nelson Lake, you can go for a hike along the Turkey Pen Ridge Trail, and don't forget to take a splendid little journey to Bobs Creek. After a long day outdoors Appomattox Super 8 Motel is a nice place to spend a night or two. During the summer       at Nelson Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Nelson Lake dip into the 10's. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do near Nelson Lake. Get drenched paddling on Rucker Run; a good nearby hotel is Wintergreen Resort.
