Tye River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and why not take a refreshing hike along the White Rock Gap Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Do have a look at Stevens Lake near Nelson Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and Nelson Lake is right by the Mills Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Wintergreen is brilliant; you can stay the night at James River State Park. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Super 8 Appomattox VA is a fine choice, and if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rucker Run. Some of the water nearby flows, like Bobs Creek, and fine water scenery is available at Nelson Dam in the neighborhood | |

Well me and my family have been going to Sharando Lake ever since I was born and we havn't gone anywhere else I love sherando and I can't wait to go back for another memorable camping weekend!...As close to perfect a camping experience as you can get: 1) Private, secluded, spacious campsites 2)access to flush toilets and showers, 3) a breathtakingly beautiful lake/swim area 4)hiking trails. WORD OF CAUTION: in-season, all sites are snapped up by Thurday noon for the weekend. Come on Sunday for best selection or before Thursday if you want a shot at a campsite. They don't take reservations (as of 8/2006) Wish they would so everyone could have a shot at a weekend camping trip there, not just the locals who can zip in and set a few camping chairs on the sites on Thursday to claim it for the weekend. ... |
