In Virginia there are many beautiful lakes, Nelson Lake is one of them. Do visit Nelson Dam while you're here at Nelson Lake, and if you came to camp James River State Park is a delightful place to do that. Summertime highs at Nelson Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Nelson Lake are in the 10's. Have a great hiking

A great close by hotel is Wintergreen Resort. There's so much to do here at Nelson Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Nelson Campground is a great site for that. Nelson Lake mostly gets a good deal of rain; October is when you get the most rain here, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Bobs Creek flows through this vicinity, | |

This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Nelson Lake you can take a hike along the Turkey Pen Ridge Trail, and hey, Gotta ski right? Wintergreen
is a good place to do that. Just can't get enough of Nelson Lake. After a long day outdoors Appomattox Super 8 Motel is a fine place to spend a night or two, and get soaked paddling on Rucker Run.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the White Rock Gap Trail, and glide down the rapids of Tye River in a kayak.
