Lots of people from Staunton-Waynesboro come to Nders Pond, and a great place nearby is Kings Gap. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Express Inn Staunton is a splendid site to spend a night or two; hiking along the Shillings Trail is nice fun. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Middle River, unsurprisingly you could also explore       Boy Scout Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Smithleigh Lake is in close proximity to Nders Pond, and do take a hike on the Little North Mountain Trail. For the duration of the long summer days here at Nders Pond, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are generally in the 30's with temperatures                  at Nders Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Nders Pond is right by the Trimbles Mill Trail. There's so much to do here at Nders Pond that you need to camp here for a while, North River Campground is a wonderful place for that. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Nders Pond has to offer, you can camp at Walnut Hills Campground, and Wood Dam has fine water scenery. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Staunton-Golf & Conf Ctr, Va is a magnificent choice, and Jennings Branch is a great whitewater spot nearby.
