What a nice lake Mountain View Lake is. If you need a location to stay SpringHill Suites Lynchburg is a great choice, and if you've had enough of Mountain View Lake, Happyland Lake is nearby. All through the long summer days here at Mountain View Lake, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 60's. | | Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. What a place this is for outdoors people. Here at Mountain View Lake there are plenty of people from Lynchburg, and not far from Mountain View Lake you get some great water scenery at Pine Lake Dam.
Mountain View Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Paradise Lake Campground is a great local campground, and a great close by hotel is Sleep Inn Lynchburg. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here | |

at Mountain View Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wildwood Campground is a tremendous place for that. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Harris Creek; Cedar Hills Golf Course
is a golf course close by.
Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of James River; Candler Mountain is clearly visible from Mountain View Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There are nice spots to look at along the Cashaw
Creek Trail, needless to say you could also explore Lakeland Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Mountain View Lake is a wet place that gets a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
