During the warmest time of the year here at Mountain Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs       are usually in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Mountain Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. The nice folks of Kingsport-Bristol like to hang out nearby, and if you came to camp Flatwoods Campground is a pleasant location to do that. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clinch River, and there's glorious hiking along the The Lonesome Pine Trail. Mountain                  Lake is a wet spot that gets lots of rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is October.
