Virginia has many beautiful lakes and Mountain Lake is one of them. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Mountain Lake, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; night lows in the 10's for Mountain Lake. So many entertaining things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not sufficient time. A nice close by hotel is Sleep Inn Staunton; if you come at the right time of year, Back Creek

| | - South River Tributary offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Tye River - North Fork, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Mountain Lake; Stony Run Trail is a good local trail.

place nearby, Lake Wilda is a nearby lake. Good hiking is available along the Kennedy Ridge Trail. There's so much to do here at Mountain Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kennedy Fields Campgrounds is a good place for
that.
This lake is so wonderful. Some close by water includes Coles Run; a lake nearby is Hattons Pond. If you need a spot to stay Staunton - Days Inn Mint Springs is a perfect choice, and there's some interesting stuff to catch
a sight of at Coles Run Dam close to Mountain Lake. The amount of precipitation that falls at Mountain Lake is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with
the least moisture.
Mountain Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Sherando Lake Campground is a good local campground. So many entertaining things in close proximity to Mountain Lake, truly incredible. The Turkey Pen Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Staunton-Waynesboro here.
