Beautiful Mountain Lake has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. Staunton - Days Inn Mint Springs is a nice spot to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Tye River - North Fork. Camping at Kennedy Fields Campgrounds is always a pleasant experience, and lots of folks from Staunton-Waynesboro come here. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Do visit Coles Run Dam while
you're here at Mountain Lake; a quick tour to Coles Run is beyond doubt a splendid idea.
Very stunning scenery and perfect skiing is what you get at Wintergreen. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Kennedy Ridge Trail, and camping is available at Sherando Lake Campground. Through the warm months at Mountain Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 60's. All through the winter the highs

are usually in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Mountain Lake.
That right there is loads already, but it carries on; Mountain Lake has it all. Lake Wilda is a nearby lake that you could check out, and if you come at the right time of year, Back Creek - South River Tributary offers some delightful whitewater. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Take a hike on the Stony Run Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn Staunton.
While you're here at Mountain Lake, you could also explore beautiful Coles Run Reservoir, and hiking along the Turkey Pen Ridge Trail is perfect fun. Mountain Lake gets a common amount of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is frequently the driest month.

Sherando Lake Campground
Well me and my family have been going to Sharando Lake ever since I was born and we havn't gone anywhere else I love sherando and I can't wait to go back for another memorable camping weekend!...As close to perfect a camping experience as you can get: 1) Private, secluded, spacious campsites 2)access to flush toilets and showers, 3) a breathtakingly beautiful lake/swim area 4)hiking trails. WORD OF CAUTION: in-season, all sites are snapped up by Thurday noon for the weekend. Come on Sunday for best selection or before Thursday if you want a shot at a campsite. They don't take reservations (as of 8/2006) Wish they would so everyone could have a shot at a weekend camping trip there, not just the locals who can zip in and set a few camping chairs on the sites on Thursday to claim it for the weekend. ...
