Near Morris Pond you discover the Hensley Hollow Trail which is a good hiking trail. Morris Pond is a good site of normal precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. The warmest time of the year at Morris Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's.       High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Morris Pond. Stay the night at Heavenly Acres Campground, and there's always Morris Dam to visit in the vicinity of Morris Pond. A brilliant nearby hotel is Doubletree Hotel Charlottesville, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Saddleback Mountain Trail. Now, you may feel that's plenty but there's even more amusing stuff to do here                  at Morris Pond. Red Carpet Inn Charlottesville is a glorious place to get some rest, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Buck Mountain Creek. There's so much to do here at Morris Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Charlottesville Koa Kampground is a magnificent site for that; swing by Fishing Creek it's a good spot to check out. Meadow Creek Golf Course at Pen Park is a good golf course nearby; there's whitewater on Rivanna River - North Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers. This lake is so wonderful.
