Summer at Mitchells Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Mitchells Pond temperatures dip to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Mitchells       Pond to see the water at Mitchells Dam, and why not camp at Cattail Creek Campground while you're here at Mitchells Pond. The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads is a wonderful local campground, and if you need a place to stay Red Carpet Inn Emporia is a magnificent choice. Nearby lakes? Sure, Smith Pond is right next door to Mitchells Pond; if you're visiting from Roanoke Rapids, you won't be the only one. The high level of precipitation makes Mitchells Pond                  a quite wet place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; April is when it's the driest. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Mitchells Pond. This is a wonderful neighborhood for people who like lakes.
