The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Middleton Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; July is the month that gets the most rain; October is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Middleton Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's       with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Middleton Lake. That right there is a load of exciting things already but it goes on, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has it all. Bow Gap is close to Middleton Lake and is positively a brilliant location to explore; an afternoon playing golf at Cedar Hill Country Club is always a joy. You don’t have to go far from Middleton Lake to catch a glimpse of the water at Middleton Dam; after a long day outdoors Comfort                  Inn & Suites is a great place to spend a night or two. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cumberland River - Poor Fork, and Holiday Inn Express Harlan, Ky is a wonderful site to get some rest. Yeah, come here to Middleton Lake for a great time. A pleasant spot to camp here at Middleton Lake is Harlan County Campground and RV Park, and don't leave Middleton Lake without first going for a hike along the Daniel Boone Trail. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Don't forget to take a great little spree to Bergen Branch. This lake is so wonderful.
