Not far from Merry Oak Lake, you'll hit upon Bowmans Pond which is a wonderful lake; England Mountain can be made out from Merry Oak Lake. Get soaked paddling on Broad Run; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Rattlesnake Trail. At Merry Oak Lake through the summertime highs are in the 80's, and       the night is rather chillier of course, regularly in the 60's.
