Melody Lake is a site with many visitors from Roanoke; if the weather is delightful, you obtain a good sight of Murray Knob from Melody Lake. After a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Tanglewood is a perfect location to spend a night or two, and a lake nearby is Clearview Lake. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Melody Lake is a great location to visit for more than one day,       Beartree - George Washington National Forest is a great location to camp nearby, and as expected, all our national parks are great spots to visit and Booker T Washington National Monument is no exception. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's always Melody Dam to pop by in the vicinity of Melody Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Curry Creek Trail. Rising Star Sports & Adventure is                  a magnificent campground nearby, and you can run the rapids of Bottom Creek. Melody Lake gets a lot of water; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Melody Lake. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Melody Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Melody Lake without first going for a hike along the North Mountain Trail, and Bowmans Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Smith Mt.
