Dog Branch is a stream that you may come across while you're here. You'll need more than a day to look at everything McGhee Lake has to offer, you can camp at Greenville Farm Family Campground. Throughout the days of summer here at McGhee Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter brings       highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to McGhee Lake. You can take a little spree to Rayborn Dam while you're here at McGhee Lake, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Leesburg is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. There's so much to do here at McGhee Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mountain View                  Campground is a good site for that. Hiking is a popular thing to do around McGhee Lake; Loudoun Heights Trail is a great local trail, and since you're here, you could also stop at beautiful Ardarra Farm Lake. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at McGhee Lake. Polecat Hill is pretty and can be seen from McGhee Lake; do take a look at Rayborn Lake, it's a charming lake. The annual precipitation here at McGhee Lake is about average; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful.
